Good lunch spot. It has salads, sandwiches, soup, quiche, and a few appetizers, so plenty to choose from. The gold star for this spot, though, belongs to the dessert. The carrot cake is fantastic! Two toasted pieces of carrot cake with a middle layer of pineapple cream cheese.. Seriously, you won't regret it.

Very much a "ladies who lunch" place and good for that as I was with a friend and her daughter. Sandwiches, quiche, etc all tasty, and fun to walk through the antique mall to the little grouping of tables. Certainly someplace I'd make an effort to return to with my mom or aunt when they visit KC next!

The carrot cake hype is real, y'all. So good. It might be the best non-pie dessert I've ever had. (In the pie vs. cake debate I am always team pie). I saw a couple reviews mention canned pears, but I can confirm that both my salad and sandwich had fresh pears. This is a great little lunch spot and I will definitely be back!

I work about two blocks from the restaurant and have ordered food from there about 5 times in the last 4 months and each time I have been really happy. First of all, they have gluten-free options, meaning they actually have decent gluten-free bread and everything is labeled on the menu, taking any of the worry out of ordering.. I've only dined there twice, once we were seated right away and the next time we had to wait about 15 minutes. They other reviews do speak the truth about the average age of the diners. Think retirement home. My favorite item on the menu is a mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich that is delicious. It's seasonal, they just informed me today the menu would be changing in the next few weeks. The almond praline chicken salad is also really good. I haven't tried them, but my co-workers oohhed and ahhhed over the dessert. If you're looking for a cute, tasty, quick, inexpensive lunch spot then this is your place. If you're looking to be seen and to sip a cocktail with lunch then I would skip it. Overall, I think the staff is very friendly and I love supporting such a tasty place so close to work.

Never got a chance to eat here. Stood at the hostess desk for 10 minutes without any acknowledgement. Waitresses repeatedly walked by without a word. Bizarre business model. Won't ever go back.

So I was told by a friend that Bloomsbury Bistro has one of the best carrot cakes in town. I was not disappointed. They have a cream cheese filling. Just a warning - please make sure you have room for it - because it's amazing. I think the most fun part of getting to the restaurant is walking through the old Antique Mall that it's housed in. Don't get me wrong - it's definitely a ladies-who-lunch place...but the food is delicious and the staff are friendly and great.

Bloomsbury Bistro bas some seriously good lunch food. Service is fine...you can tell that tbe staff is comprised of five or so daily peeps. Salads, soups, lunch entrees are all yummy. It's seasonal and fresh and the carrot cake is one of the best desserts in town. There are lots of older people but I find that comforting. As a person who used to go to church just to look at the cute old people, I love it. It's the neighborhood...Corinth isn't exactly Brooklyn.

I met a few girlfriends for lunch here on a Friday. I had never been, so finding the place was a bit tricky. It's actually nestled inside the Mission Road Antique Mall. We planned on an early lunch, which I was glad since it was almost full when we arrived at 11:30. The crowd is definitely an older crowd, but it is sweet to see so many ladies enjoying a day out. I would caution men: this is really a ladies luncheon spot. The menu had a nice variety of appetizers, soups, sandwiches and salads and even had an option for a combination of any two. I ordered a combo of the polenta, mushroom and goat cheese appetizer and the pecan encrusted chicken salad. The polenta was delicious, a nice variation for lunch, but a bit rich because of the sauce. My salad arrived and was actually the pear and goat cheese salad. They were very quick to replace the mistake with the correct salad. I was surprised that the pecan encrusted chicken was served cold. It tasted like leftover shake and bake; it definitely would have been better if served fresh baked/warm. My friends got the goat cheese salad and the quiche. The goat cheese salad was served with pears, which my friend said were definitely canned pears. The quiche was a winner with my other friend. All in all we enjoyed a nice day at the Bistro; mostly because of the company. Don't expect top quality food or service; but it's definitely a step above the average diner.

Holy old people, Batman. Not exactly a young professionals crowd. I would guess that the youngest person there (besides me and one of the servers) was a woman in her late 50s having lunch with her mother. Now that I think about it, I don't recall there being any men there either. I suppose I should have known what I was getting myself into when I made my way into an antiques mall for lunch, but I was looking for one of those "best kept secrets" so I continued through the maze of dusty old smell and found Bloomsbury. To find it, enter through the main doors of the antique mall, turn right and keep walking until you see the "one of these things is not like the others" contemporary-looking sign for the Bistro. There isn't a host on duty and the place was packed. I originally planned on cozying up with my book while enjoying a fabulous lunch, but as I walked up to the non-existent host desk, I called an audible and decided to take my order to go. I awkwardly stood by the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign for a couple minutes before being greeted by one of the servers. She took my order promptly and invited me to have a seat or walk around and wait for my name to be called over the intercom. There isn't much for seating, so I took a seat on a church pew that was selling for $650. Luckily, no one was around wanting to purchase said pew. My food was ready in a matter of minutes, but I had to walk through the dining area to get to it and pay for it. I had a lunch combo of 1/2 Bistro Turkey Sandwich and 1/2 order of Bruschetta. The bruschetta was ok, but could have used some salt. They brushed a good amount of pesto on the crostini, but it lacked seasoning. The tomatoes and the mozzarella, I felt, could have tasted a little fresher. The turkey sandwich was a little disappointing. I appreciate a sandwich that I could attempt to replicate, but would fail miserably. It was not the case here. It tasted ok (except for the soggy pears), but it was something I could have assembled at home. It's true that could be said for most sandwiches, but I literally could make this sandwich at home. None of the components were unique or stood out, the bread even tasted like a typical loaf wheat bread -- just didn't have the flair of artisanal ingredients. The location is convenient for me as it's not far from work, but unless I run out of options, I probably won't make a return trip anytime soon.

This gem hidden inside the Antiques Mall has absolutely the best food I've had in KC. The chef works miracles -- every dish has ingenious, bright flavors and is swoonworthy. The quiche is transcendent. The chicken crepes are manna from heaven. The shrimp salad and the pecan-encrusted chicken salads are gastronomical works of art - and if you get a full size, come with unbelievably good mini orange-flavored sweet muffins. They brew the coffee with cinnamon so it smells and tastes cozy and delicious. The staff are not overly friendly, but it doesn't matter because you will worship them for bringing you your meal. You have not lived until you have the carrot cake. It doesn't really resemble carrot cake. It resembles Jesus.

The food is fresh and lovely. Our lunch bunch enjoyed everything that we ordered, except for the chicken salad. They were a bit put off by the cold chicken and would have enjoyed warm chicken. Nobody hated the salad, they just wanted warm chicken! However, the desserts were amazing. I don't tend to get dessert. Call me cheap, but spending almost $6 for dessert just doesn't appeal to me..until I saw the creme brulee. OMG! And I said that out loud in the restaurant. Then, I chased down a server and said, "May I have some of that, please?" It is like silken heaven in a spoon. Don't leave without trying it!
